The Lost Weekend, formed in the spring of 1994, just as Britpop was making its impact. Inspired by the resurgence of this MOD based, energetic music, the Lost Weekend began by putting together a set of classic MOD tunes that were, in their own right, a huge influence to the whole Brotpop scene. This gave the band an ideal opportunity to mix contemporary music with timeless60's anthems, yet maintain the genes of the MOD sound throughout their set.
Today the set is constantly changing, yet the DNA still runs strong. With the arrival of bands such as the Kaiser Chiefs and the Fratellis the evidence of a 40 year old influence is still very apparent. Great news for the Lost Weekend, who are always eager to expand on a mammoth back catalogue of fantastic tunes.
The band line up still sports 3 of the 4 original members, all of whom are passionate about the music they play, with a laid back approach, the emphasis today is the same as back in '94 - enjoying the music.
The current set list includes covers of classic tunes by The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who, The Small Faces, The Jam, Paul Weller, Oasis, Supergrass, Elvis Costello, The Kaiser Chiefs, The Fratellis and even Lost Weekend.
