Mid 1997 Solitary sign to UK label Holier Than Thou Records, the band make their first appearance on the HTT compilation " Genetically Fresh" this attracted interest from the JMG Agency who line up support slots with Kill 2 This, Reign and Deranged from Sweden.
May the following year Solitary enter Assembly Line Studio's to record " Nothing Changes " the album is completed in August the end product far surpassing everyone's expectations. Solitary embark on two UK tours to promote the album which is released in November.
The reviews of " Nothing Changes " are very favorable; the music press raves about the album comparing Solitary to the likes of Fear Factory, Machine Head and Pantera. Terrorizer state "Solitary could even help break the longstanding British empass" Despite the great reviews distribution of the Album is still lacking until JMG hook up a deal with UK distributors PHD. Solitary tour the UK again on the back of "No Reason's" inclusion on Terrorizer's cover mount CD.
June 2000 Solitary launch their official website and HTT release "Heavier Than Thou" a compilation CD featuring "Within Temptation". Solitary headline a HTT showcase at Nottingham Rock City, but after three fruitless years with their label Solitary part ways with Holier Than Thou Records.
"Within Temptation" reaches No 2 in the Peoplesound.com Metal Charts after clocking up a staggering two thousand downloads in just four months. June 2001 sees the bands mailing list now over six thousand strong handled by Copro Records issue a free CD, featuring "The Downward Spiral" Solitary kick-start their live career on the Rocksound sponsored Nu Titans Tour.
April 2002 "A Second Chance" tops the mp3 Metal Charts having on average been downloaded two thousand times per month. Solitary are positioned at no 12 in the global downloads charts above the likes of Elton John, Anastasia and Creed. Since making their songs available via mp3 format Solitary have clocked up over fourteen thousand downloads and streams of their material and stayed in the top ten of the peoplesound.com metal charts for over twelve months. The band return to Assembly Line Studio's to demo four new tracks the new songs show a big progression from the material off " Nothing Changes " so much show that the track "15 Years" is included on the compilation CD for the Rockdetector "A-Z of Thrash Metal" book.
October 2003 sees the new line up tour the UK again prior to the visit of Danish Metal band Lipid with whom they depart on a co headlining tour the following March. Casket music approach Solitary with a view to re releasing " Nothing Changes " the band agree to record some bonus tracks as well as repackaging the CD for the release, the extra tracks are reworked versions of "Once Betrayed" and "Breakdown" off their 1994 -1995 Demo's and the Sacred Reich classic "The American Way". Solitary have also already begun recording the follow up to " Nothing Changes " which should be released sometime next year.
